A Combi track determines how you play that sound. Sample Manager and setlist import\/export open full screen.03 \u00b7 SETLIST<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Recall and edit setlist buttons<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A setlist button is a saved entry for a song, sound or combination. The app recalls its settings and sends the configured MIDI data. Use <strong>Sort Setlist Buttons<\/strong> in App Settings to edit the order.<strong>Before major changes:<\/strong> Export your setlist. An unsaved name or button setting is not a reliable backup.04 \u00b7 COMBINATIONS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Combi: use several tracks together<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Edit setlist button \u2192 Combi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A combination groups several tracks. Use <strong>Cavit Semai<\/strong> for internal sample playback.<\/li><li>Check the track state. <strong>Play<\/strong> indicates an active track; <strong>Mute<\/strong> indicates a muted track. Tap to switch between them.<\/li><li>Set <strong>Volume<\/strong> to an appropriate level.<\/li><li>Test the combination via MIDI and, if needed, with <strong>Transmit<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Tap <strong>Save<\/strong> and confirm <strong>Saving Combination<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3>Transmit and Autotransmit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transmit<\/strong> sends the MIDI settings configured for the combination. <strong>Autotransmit<\/strong> toggles automatic transmission. Sending MIDI settings does not replace saving the combination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPhone:<\/strong> Work through the tracks one at a time. Selecting it activates playback for the track.<\/li><li>Open <strong>MIDI Input<\/strong> and choose the appropriate MIDI source.<\/li><li>Play a few notes and check volume and key range.<\/li><li>Open <strong>Edit Sound<\/strong> to change tuning, velocity response or effects.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>First selection:<\/strong> If no MIDI input was previously configured for this Cavit Semai track, selecting a multisample initially assigns <strong>Cavit Semai Ensemble High<\/strong>. Check this assignment and change it if you want to play from another source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>What does Stop Cavit Semai do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stop Cavit Semai<\/strong> stops the notes on this track and removes its Cavit Semai sound and MIDI-input assignments. To silence the sound temporarily, use <strong>Mute<\/strong>.The message <strong>Keine Multisamples im Sample Manager<\/strong> (\u201cNo multisamples in Sample Manager\u201d) means you must first provide a sound in Sample Manager.06 \u00b7 SAMPLE LIBRARY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Use Sample Manager<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>App Settings \u2192 Sample Manager<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The screen is titled <strong>Sample Sound Editor<\/strong>. Here you manage the multisamples used by your Combi tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"http:\/\/127.0.0.1:8767\/bilder\/ipad-sample-manager.png\" alt=\"Sample Manager\"\/><figcaption>Original screenshot \u00b7 iPad A16. Import methods are described in the next chapter.<\/li><li>Check the sample zones and save your edits.<\/li><li>Save the library with <strong>Save<\/strong> before leaving Sample Manager.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3>Edit and audition existing multisamples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tap an editable multisample in the list to open its zones. Use <strong>Play<\/strong> to audition samples. For multisamples with several samples, the preview advances to the next sample; an indicator such as <strong>1\/8<\/strong> helps you follow it. <strong>Stop<\/strong> ends the preview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Select several multisamples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tap the checkboxes next to the entries. <strong>Select All<\/strong> selects all multisamples eligible for batch actions; tap it again to clear the selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Action<\/th><th>Result<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Export Cavit Semai Set<\/td><td>Exports selected eligible multisamples as a sample set.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Import Cavit Semai Set<\/td><td>Reads an existing sample set into the library.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Loop On<\/td><td>Enables loop settings for selected multisamples in a batch, where the data allows it.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Loop Off<\/td><td>Disables loop playback for selected multisamples in a batch.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Trash<\/td><td>Removes selected deletable multisamples. Some long button titles are shortened; the functions are the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPad:<\/strong> The creation button is labeled <strong>Add New Multisample<\/strong>. The illustrated notes are not mandatory values.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3>Choose the right import method<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Button<\/th><th>When to use it<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Import WAV<\/td><td>For your own WAV recordings. Import in the zone editor also supports automatic mapping; check the resulting assignments.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Import KMP File<\/td><td>For individual Korg KMP files. Their associated KSF files must be accessible.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Import KMP Folder<\/td><td>For a folder containing KMP files and associated KSF subfolders. Especially useful when the file provider limits subfolder access during single-file import.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Tap the appropriate import button.<\/li><li>Select the file or complete folder in the file picker.<\/li><li>Read any prompts and wait for the import message. The app shows progress for larger folders.<\/li><li>Check the resulting zones. Importing a folder can create several multisamples.<\/li><li>Save your edits. If folder import has already saved automatically, check the completion message and the entries in Sample Manager.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3>Key Low, Key High and Root Key<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Low<\/strong> is the lowest key in a zone; <strong>Key High<\/strong> is the highest. <strong>Root Key<\/strong> is the original pitch of the recording. The sampler uses it to calculate pitch changes for other keys. An incorrect Root Key can put the sound out of tune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set the ranges to cover the keys you need. Use overlaps intentionally only when you want several zones to sound together. Also check the velocity range if a zone should respond only to certain playing strengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Audition the sample and loop<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Open the individual zone in <strong>Edit Sample Zone<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Use <strong>Play Sample<\/strong> to hear the recording and <strong>Stop<\/strong> to end playback.<\/li><li>Enable <strong>Activate Loop<\/strong> if needed.<\/li><li>Set <strong>Loop Start<\/strong> and <strong>Loop End<\/strong>. The end must come after the start.<\/li><li>Use <strong>Auto-Loop-Finder<\/strong> as a starting point if needed, then audition the result.<\/li><li>For rhythmic recordings, <strong>Analyze BPM<\/strong> and loop-length settings are also available.<\/li><li>Tap <strong>Save<\/strong> and save the enclosing editing stages as well.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Practical tip:<\/strong> A loop should sound as smooth as possible when moving from its end back to its start. If you hear a click, move the boundaries and test again. Tap \u2212\/+ once for a single change; press and hold for continuous changes.08 \u00b7 SAMPLE SETS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Export or import a Cavit Semai sample set<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>App Settings \u2192 Sample Manager \u2192 Export \/ Import Cavit Semai Set<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"http:\/\/127.0.0.1:8767\/bilder\/soundtransfer-en.svg\" alt=\"Sample-set transfer\"\/><figcaption>Diagram \u00b7 Sample sets contain sample content. Setlist files are covered separately in Chapter 10.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3>Export your own multisamples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Select the user multisamples you want to export in Sample Manager.<\/li><li>Tap <strong>Export Cavit Semai Set<\/strong>.<\/li><li>The <strong>Export Selected Sounds<\/strong> dialog provides <strong>Target Device Import ID (optional)<\/strong>.<\/li><li>For an export intended for another device, use that device\u2019s import ID. <strong>Copy Device ID<\/strong> copies the current device\u2019s import ID; <strong>Paste Device ID<\/strong> inserts a copied destination ID.<\/li><li>Check the displayed export allowance. An export for a specified destination device requires an available allowance. If needed, press and hold <strong>Paste Device ID<\/strong> for about 0.8 seconds to open the multisample export-code dialog.<\/li><li>Tap <strong>Export<\/strong> and choose the offered location or file-output method.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Sample-set files use the extension <strong>.cavitsemai<\/strong>. Without selected exportable multisamples, the app reports <strong>Nothing selected<\/strong> or <strong>Nothing to export<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Import a sample set<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Tap <strong>Import Cavit Semai Set<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Choose the appropriate <strong>.cavitsemai<\/strong> file.<\/li><li>For name or file conflicts, the app displays <strong>Import conflicts<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Choose <strong>Import Conflicts as Copies<\/strong> to keep existing content and import conflicts as copies. Use <strong>Overwrite User Conflicts<\/strong> only when you intend to replace existing user content. <strong>Cancel<\/strong> stops the import.<\/li><li>Wait for completion and check the new multisamples in the list.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Device binding and protection:<\/strong> A device-bound set must match its intended destination device. Factory sounds are not overwritten in a conflict. Protected purchased multisamples cannot be exported.09 \u00b7 TRACK SOUND<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Cavit Semai \u00b7 Sound Edit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Combi \u2192 Track \u2192 Cavit Semai \u2192 Edit Sound<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This editor changes the sound of the selected Combi track. It is separate from Sample Manager: here you adjust playback and sound rather than manage the underlying sample files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"http:\/\/127.0.0.1:8767\/bilder\/soundedit-en.svg\" alt=\"Sound Editor overview\"\/><figcaption>Diagram \u00b7 Layer parameters apply to the selected layer. A layer labeled <strong>No Multisample<\/strong> needs a sound assignment before it can play samples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Velocity\/Range<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Select a multisample and enable the layer. Velocity Low\/High limit the velocity range; Volume controls layer volume. Low\/High in Key Range limit the keys. Choose its multisample and adjust its settings.<\/li><li>Use <strong>Delete<\/strong> to remove the selected layer after confirmation.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The green or gray state indicator shows whether a layer is enabled. Many sound parameters provide a live preview. Use <strong>\u2212 \/ +<\/strong> to change values step by step; press and hold for continuous changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>save icon in the header<\/strong> commits the edited track sound. <strong>Saved<\/strong> appears briefly and the editor stays open. The current integration also saves the track sound in the combination. If you then change other Combi settings, save the combination again.<strong>Cancel<\/strong> or the close icon exits editing. Unsaved live changes are reverted. Changes you have already saved remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Acoustic Model presets<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Acoustic Model preset section may offer <strong>Factory Presets<\/strong>, <strong>Model Presets<\/strong> and <strong>User Presets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Save:<\/strong> Save the editable user preset.<\/li><li><strong>Save as:<\/strong> Store the settings as a new user preset.<\/li><li><strong>Rename:<\/strong> Rename a user preset.<\/li><li><strong>Delete:<\/strong> Remove a deletable user preset.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Acoustic Model presets save the settings for that effect section. Saving the entire track sound is a separate operation. Use the save icon in the header to commit the current sound to the Combi track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPhone:<\/strong> The tab bar scrolls horizontally. Swipe it if a tab such as EQ or FX is outside the visible area. Scroll within the editor for more parameters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPad:<\/strong> The larger screen makes comparing parameters easier. Layers and tabs have the same meaning as on iPhone; additional parameters may still require scrolling.10 \u00b7 SETLIST FILES<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Export and import a setlist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>App Settings \u2192 Export\/Import<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Setlist export backs up button entries and their saved combinations. Back up WAV and KSF sample files separately using sample-set export.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"http:\/\/127.0.0.1:8767\/bilder\/ipad-setlist-transfer.png\" alt=\"Setlist Export\/Import\"\/><figcaption>Original screenshot \u00b7 iPad A16. Export includes the entire current setlist and its button configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Import a setlist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Tap <strong>Import Setlist<\/strong> and choose a suitable file.<\/li><li>In <strong>Select Setlist Buttons<\/strong>, select the entries to import. <strong>Select All<\/strong> selects all offered entries; <strong>Deselect All<\/strong> clears the selection.<\/li><li>Continue to <strong>Choose Import Destination<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Choose one of the three methods. When inserting, also select a starting button.<\/li><li>Check the selection and destination, then tap <strong>Import Selected<\/strong> or <strong>Replace All<\/strong>, as appropriate.<\/li><li>For full replacement, confirm the prompt. After completion, check the message and the setlist.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Method<\/th><th>Result<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Insert from a Button<\/td><td>Starts at the selected button and skips occupied slots. Example: start at button 5; button 6 is occupied; new entries go to 5 and 7.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Append to Existing Setlist<\/td><td>Adds entries after the last occupied button. Empty gaps before that button are not filled.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Replace Entire Setlist<\/td><td>Clears the current setlist and places selected entries at their original button numbers. Unselected positions remain empty.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Replace Entire Setlist also removes existing entries that you did not select.<\/strong> Export your current setlist first if you want to keep it. If there is not enough free space, import stops with a message without importing any entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPhone:<\/strong> The import selection uses a compact layout for limited height. Scroll through the list and check selected names before continuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPad:<\/strong> Import\/export also opens full screen here. Content is centered; selection and methods work the same as on iPhone.11 \u00b7 MIDI<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Ensemble Mode and MIDI connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>App Settings \u2192 Ensemble Mode \/ Midi Device Manager<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"http:\/\/127.0.0.1:8767\/bilder\/ensemble-en.svg\" alt=\"Ensemble MIDI workflow\"\/><figcaption>Diagram \u00b7 Ensemble Mode provides MIDI connections. Choose which input each track uses in its track menu.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ensemble Mode<\/strong> switches the virtual Ensemble MIDI sources on or off. The icon shows the state; a crossed-out icon indicates that the mode is off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sources are named <strong>Cavit Semai Ensemble High<\/strong>, <strong>Cavit Semai Ensemble Mid<\/strong> and <strong>Cavit Semai Ensemble Low<\/strong>. Select an available source in a Cavit Semai track\u2019s <strong>MIDI Input<\/strong> menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Connect your MIDI device. For Bluetooth MIDI, first open <strong>Bluetooth Device Manager<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In <strong>Midi Device Manager<\/strong>, check that the required source is available.<\/li><li>Enable <strong>Ensemble Mode<\/strong> if you want to use the virtual Ensemble sources.<\/li><li>Open the Combi track and choose the desired source under <strong>Cavit Semai \u2192 MIDI Input<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Check the track state and volume, then play notes within its active key range.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensemble Mode alone is not sufficient: the MIDI input, active track, selected sound and key range must work together. The actual processing of High, Mid and Low depends on the app settings.12 \u00b7 IPHONE, IPAD AND READING<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Enlarge the help<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This preview already lets you enlarge text and images separately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>A+ \/ A\u2212:<\/strong> Increase or decrease text size. The current size is shown as a percentage.<\/li><li><strong>Reset:<\/strong> Restore text to 100%.<\/li><li><strong>Tap an image:<\/strong> Open it in a large view.<\/li><li><strong>+ \/ \u2212 in the image viewer:<\/strong> Zoom in or out. When enlarged, you can move the visible portion of the image.<\/li><li><strong>Close:<\/strong> Return to the chapter. Escape also works on a keyboard.<\/li><li><strong>Device notes:<\/strong> Show just the iPhone or iPad notes using the selector at the top.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Planned for future in-app help, not implemented yet:<\/strong> Two-finger image zoom, a movable image viewport, A\u2212\/A+ text sizing and an accessible Reset function. Browser gestures depend on your browser; the zoom buttons work independently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPhone:<\/strong> Chapters use a single column. The chapter navigation scrolls horizontally. Images open across the available width.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>iPad:<\/strong> With enough width, the table of contents appears beside the text. Enlarged images use the larger area without losing your chapter position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The future PDF and web versions should use the same content and captions. At this stage, no final PDF, published web help or app integration is being created.13 \u00b7 TROUBLESHOOTING<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>When something does not work as expected<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Problem<\/th><th>What to check<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>No sound from a track<\/td><td>Is a multisample selected? Is the track on Play? Is Volume audible? Is MIDI Input correct? Are the note and velocity inside the active range?<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>No multisamples in the track menu<\/td><td>Open Sample Manager, import or create content, and save it. Then select the track again.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Sample not found<\/td><td>The referenced sample file is missing. Check the original import and reimport the complete sample set if needed.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>KMP import cannot find KSF files<\/td><td>Use Import KMP Folder and select the parent folder with the associated KSF subfolders. Cloud files must be available.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Sound is out of tune<\/td><td>Check the zone\u2019s Root Key, fine tuning and the layer\u2019s Tuning settings.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Some keys are silent<\/td><td>Check Key Low \/ Key High and Velocity\/Range for gaps. Only certain zones or layers may be active.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Loop clicks or sounds uneven<\/td><td>Adjust Loop Start \/ Loop End, try Auto-Loop-Finder and audition. Check whether the recording is suitable for continuous looping.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Nothing selected during sample export<\/td><td>Select at least one exportable user multisample using its checkbox.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Sample-set import reports the wrong destination device<\/td><td>Check the set\u2019s device binding. For a different recipient, export a set using that recipient\u2019s import ID.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Not enough space for setlist import<\/td><td>Select fewer entries or choose a start position with enough free slots. Append uses only slots after the last occupied button.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>External instrument changes to the wrong program<\/td><td>Compare MIDI connection, Channel, MSB, LSB and PC with the instrument\u2019s bank\/program-change table.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Changes disappear after closing<\/td><td>Use the correct save operation: zone, multisample\/library, track sound or setlist button.
